Android Spotlights - Brand New School

The ‘Spotlights’ for Android has been by far one of the most rewarding and fun projects to date for me. Every quarter of the year, we would create three 30 second spots to showcase snazzy new features Android had developed for their phones, with a huge side order of deliverables . I’ve had the honor of being involved with these projects six different times now! The above is one out of three 30 second spots from just one quarter— Winter 2021.

For the 30 seconds spots, I would juggle running anywhere from one to two conforms, as well as animating my assigned shots on the side.

For deliverables, I was in charge of art directing a team of talented animators/designers to make sure all the nitty gritty details of the Android UI were up to the client’s expectations. Which often involved working directly with the genius people on the Android teams. On top of developing streamlined systems of delivery for hundreds of deliverables, designing long-term-use templates, and user friendly toolkits.

Below are some of the spots I animated fully, as well as some rough sketches that saw clean up later down the road, using After Effects, Cinema4d, and CC Animate for various situations.
